I have used this MSI vega56 for a month, the following is my opinion:
Conclusion: If you consider between 2060 and vega56, and you have a bronze power supply greater than 600W, jetzt bezahlen!
Design:
MSI's non-common version of the RX Vega 56 and the common version look exactly the same. It seems that it just replaced the surface of the radiator, the heat shield of the IO baffle, and replaced it at the top. Illuminated MSI LOGO.
I think the design of this card is better than the common version. The MSI logo on the back panel makes the whole card look absolute better.
Port:
3 DP and 1 HDMI, Since I use HDMI more, considering that two monitors can be 2 HDMI, the interface and the public version of the graphics card are consistent, because it is a common version of the PCB.
Performance:
The graphics card I used before was RX480 4GB, and the performance boost brought by this card is nearly doubled. This card runs at 1181-1520MHz and with 800Mhz 8GB HBM.
APEX I can run in medium setting around 80FPS, now I can run it in high setting for an average FPS around 120FPS.
CSGO 250FPS+ with all high setting, this game relies more on high-frequency CPUs, I am using Ryzen 2600 the FPS is much lower than Intel Cpu and the difference in graphics is not particularly huge.
PUBG all high setting with an average 140 FPS.
The focus is coming
Buy this VEGA56 is a lottery ticket, the main HBM2 versions on the market are Hynix and Samsung.
If you got it Samsung HMB2, that means you can flash your Vega 56 to Vega64 and turn down the voltage to get a Lower Power Needing and Higher Performance. 5-10% Higher performance than Vega56 and around 100W Power lower.
Detailed flashing guide can be found in internet, written in great detail, and this card has 2 bios, so if you failed you can still flash it back. I got a Samsung Version and what I want to do is share my settings.
Summer mode 1: P7: 1552 / voltage 912 +, memory Memory Hynix: 850 / 900 Memory Samsung: 1000/900
Summer mode 2: P7: 1552/voltage 950+, memory memory Hynix: 850/900 Memory Samsung: 1000/900
Setting 3: P7: 1602/Voltage 1030, Memory Memory Hynix: 850/900 Memory Samsung: 1050/95
After these setting, the power is around 180W.
Advantage:
1. Sehr Sehr HOCH Preis/Wert----250Euros for almost best 2060 non-common performance (for Samsung HBM2)
2. Previous generation second top card in Red Team, the build quality and feeling is much better than a mid-range card
3. 8GB HBM2, you can only get it in 2070
Disadvantage:
1. Needing a minimum 600W Netzteil.
2. Heatsink is use the common version VEGA56 plan, which means a little bit noisy, if you super care that, better buy a 2060.
2060 in general is a better card with lower needing power and better game optimization, but the price is 100Euros more than vega56, that is not 2060 disadvantage but my disadvantage. :(
But I am really happy to get a vega64(flashed version) 10 270Euros (the price I bought), and almost RTX2070 Performance.
The game if VEGA56 cannot play, the 2060,2070 absolute also cannot get enough FPS, therefore buy it!
